Custom order capes

We had a boutique owner from Fresno call us and want some cooking sets and capes but she NEEDED boy capes and some more brighter colored aprons. We had so much fun with this order. We finally HAD to take the time and design some boy capes. The owner loved the idea of a skeleton I wasn't sure how I felt but as soon as my little Max man saw the skeleton he flipped! HE wanted one soooo bad!! So low and behold just when I thought I had enough cape sewing I will be busy at the machine tonight making one for my little man! Although our shop is closing Wednesday night we decided we'd put them in there for the next two days and just see how they go! The apple cape was for a gal in Texas she has a niece whom they call apple and wanted her to have her very own cape. I love the way this one turned out as well!! Too fun, sometimes it takes awhile to get those creative juices flowing but once they start it is hard to shut down!

Custom Orders

These two capes are for a gal in Canada. She emailed us telling us she wanted these colors and then just told us to go with it!! SCARY!! One thing mama D and I love about our Rosies shop is all of the creativity that is involved! We love trying something new, and this was so much fun redoing our normal cape! These are both now on their way to Canada soon to be slept in, played in, fought in, etc. etc. etc We hope Miss Canada is happy! We sure had fun designing!

We're Back!

Ok I am not going to lie! We had a fabulous week in McCall but not alot of sewing happened! DANG! I knew that was going to happen! O well! But here is a little project I have done... Last year Mr. Hess splurged for his little princess and bought Madi this adorable pink tulle skirt. She loved it I loved it! And then her, being her naughty little self, got into some paints with some friends and ruined our cute little $40.00 skirt! (yes $40.00!! Why did he pay that?? I don't know! I'm way too cheap for that!)

I'm going to try a little stain removing but in the meantime, I just knew that we could make this skirt! And that we did! I love it. I chose red for two reasons, 1. I had red tulle lying around and 2. it's Christmas time!!! Yea!!! Take that Gymboree! So try one out for your little missy or hop on over to our shop and buy one there! (we also have brown, black, and we are working on getting just the right green!)

I had to add this pic because I think she is just so dang cute! Don't you think her modeling is just getting so good!:) (her poses kill me!!)

If you would have asked me a year ago...

OK if any of you would have asked me a year ago if I ever thought that I would EVER make my daughters Levis I would probably answer

"HECK TO THE NO I WON'T"

For several reasons:

One: I have no idea how
Two: Aren't homemade jeans hideous???
Three: Wouldn't it be way cheaper and way easier to just go buy some???

Well I did it! Madi HATES wearing jeans. She thinks they are to tight on her waist So I had this brilliant idea that I needed to make her some ruffle jeans. (she loves her ruffle pants because they are so comfy!) So I found some denim on sale. For $5.00 I got enough fabric to make her a pair and of course my little meezers a pair too. And I think they are adorable! Maybe I'm weird, maybe my sewing eye is skewered because I am the one who made them, I don't know! But she loved them and I love them so I guess that is all that matters.

So now...

one: Now I know how

two: I think they are HOT!

three: $5.00 for two pairs of jeans is totally worth my time!

Bella Double ruffle

I LOVE THESE PANTS!!! I don't know why I just do. I love the girlyness of them but I think what I like best is that they are made of knit so they are super soft and super comfy. You don't have to be a pro to make these babies. They do take time but really, I am a pretty new sewer and I pulled it off. So get daring and go for it! Or just buy them already made HERE. I used the Bella pant pink fig pattern you can purchase that here. I love her stuff!! Some way cute patterns! Let us know if you give these babies a try. We always love pictures!

Every Child needs one

This is such a simple craft. I am pretty new to the sewing world and this was one of those things that I just threw together one night. I basically jazzed up a giant rectangle, and added bias for ties. I am loving Iron on paper for the M and my be dazzler for the jewels! Now go get busy and use your super powers to make your child one. Comment me for questions I would love to help where I can.
